• Only particles,
which are in the 3D focus point, are solely and continuously detected
by an extremely confined and selective
focus.
• Only the patented 3D ORM sensors have a dynamic focus. The user obtains reproducible
measuring results with MTS patented measuring
procedure.
• The focus moves continuously horizontally, within the “Travelling
Distance TD” from the sapphire window, inside the
medium. Because of this the focus from the window
is very small and fine particles with 0.14 micron can be detected.
When travelling in the medium the focus optically
widens and can therefore selectively detect larger
particles up to 2400um.
• At the same time the focus point rotates, which creates a cylindrical
path in which the focus dynamically wanders with
even scanning speed inside a spiral motion. The speed of the moving focus is in all directions 2 or 4m/s.
• The single fibre optics have a extreme small opening angle.
That way all signals resulting from multiple counts
are already sorted from the sensor optics. Only particles
which have generated a signal in front of the focus will be used
for the statistic of the signal length distribution.
• All adjustments on the sensor have already been made at the
production, so that operating error by the customer
can be ruled out.
• The focus is always very narrow and at the same time proportional
to the geometrical area in which it is placed.
In this way, signals are avoided through multiple
dispersion.
• MTS places the focus point in front of the sapphire window
in order to avoid the focus from widening, which
could amount to the characteristic of turbidity measurement
and only simulate non selective signal rates and high number rates.
• Special structural shapes are available for applications, where
the beginning of a nucleation must be observed and
through these nucleations the turbidity effects can
be put to good use (PSyA CSD).
• Sensors, which take into account the special backscattering
characteristic of emulsions o/w and w/o in the range
of <30 / 60 microns, can be used for measuring
drop sizes in high concentrated emulsions up to CV 70%.
